Topic 4-Culture

I went to Australia last year, and I come to America this year. I think that the public transportation in Australia is as convenient as in Taiwan, but in Los Angeles I think that is not really convenient to take the public transportation. Driving is the most convenient way to go out here. Then, these two countries' people are nice and friendly. When I arrived at airport in Sydney, I needed to go to homestay by myself. So, I took the train to Town hall, and I needed to up stair two floors. My suitcase was too heavy, it's hard to up stair with my suitcase. Then, there were two people help me to take this suitcase up stair. And, I needed to take a bus, then I could arrive my homestay. I didn't know which bus I could take, so I asked the bus driver. He told me that I should take this bus, but I was not sure which stop I should go. He told me he will tell me which stop I need to go and he chatted with me on the bus. I'm glad to have this wonderful experience in Australia.
Moreover, there are lots of plants and grass in public space in these two countries, it's really nice to people see something green. I wish that Taiwan also can plant more trees in public space. Then, people in these two countries is friendly to passerby. For example, when people cross the road, but the traffic light turn green, drivers still wait fro them to cross the road. People in Taiwan do not do this, they usually want to save their time.
However, I consider that these two countries are too wasted. When I went to the market to buy something I need, the clerk always gave the customers a lot of plastic bags because these bags are free. It is really not environmentally friendly. In Taiwan, you need to pay for the plastic bags when you go to convenient store or supermarket, then people don't want to spend money to buy and we won't be wasted. And, we do recycle everything that can recycle, it's more friendly to our environment.   

Topic 3-Family

There are eight family members in my family. there are my grandparents, parents and sisters and brothers. I'm the first child in my family, and my brother and I are twins. I have two younger sisters. Both of them are Americans because they were born in the U.S.A. But, my brother and I were born and grow up in Taiwan. Now, all my family live in Taiwan. I think that my double eyelids, lips and skin are more like my mom, and my face shape is more like my dad, especially my eyebrows because both of us have short eyebrows. If we have a meeting with other family members, they always say that you are becoming more and more like your dad as you grow up. Moreover, there are lots of acnes on my face. I believe that it is like my mom because she also have many acnes on her face when she was young. In personality, I am like both of them. My dad is positive, easygoing but careless. I also inherited these personalities from him. Then, my mom always concentrate on what she is doing, like to go shopping and cook for delicious food. I like her in first and second personalities, but I don't like her in cooking. I am not good at cooking, actually. Lastly, all of my family do like to try delicious and different kind of food. So, We all like to have a meal in the restaurant outside usually and eat delicious food. 

Topic 2 - My experience of part-time job

     I'm still a university student now. I share my experience of part-time first. In this year, I got a part-time job about table game. This table game store is a little bit like a café shop. Before I took this job, I have few experience of table game and cooking. Then, I have a chance to interview by the boss who is a Canadian of this shop and I got this job. In the beginning, I need to learn lots of table games and how to make meals such as sandwiches, rice and spaghetti. It is interesting to me to play lots of table games, but I can not remember every rule clearly. And, all the meals are easy to learn hoe to do. In addition, I make lots of new friends because of this job. some of them are customers, and others are my coworkers in this store. I had a wonderful memory here. Afterwards, it's time to tell you what I want to do in future. I want to be a teacher due to children. I like children very much, especially younger kids are 5 or 6 years old. I consider that the age of are cute. And, I can teach them as possible as I can what they like to learn. I've already took courses about teaching in university. I hope that I can be a teacher in near future.

Topic 1 - I'm Ruby

Hello, I'm Ruby.
Nice to meet you all. This is my first time to travel here, I feel so excited to be here.I'm looking forward to experiencing different cultures, learning English, and making friends from other countries, especially foods. I love delicious foods so much. If you know something special food, you can let me know and I'll try it.                  
  
 Now, I want to introduce my country Taiwan. Taiwan is a really small island. It's about 23 million.Most of people in Taiwan are really passionate and friendly and we are always welcome foreigners to travel Taiwan. Do you know the tallest building in Taiwan? It's Taipei 101. There are firework shows in special days every year, especially in National Day or the last day of a year. the Taipei 101's firework shows are so beautiful. Moreover, I want to introduce you the place where I was born and grow up -- Changhua. It's a middle part of Taiwan. There is a really nice place. The weather is always shiny.  

In addition, I'm a sophomore in University In Taiwan, and I just finished my second year. I came here for summer vocation, so I will stay here for 2 months and go back to my country. And, I really like to watch not only Korean dramas and programs but also western movies. Also, I usually go to see a movie in the theater with on weekends with my friends. I also like to watch comic books and animates. These activities are what I like to do in my spare time.

I'm so glad to have this course with you guys. And, I hope that all of us can have a happy memory here.
